In addition, advances in battery technology and production have significantly improved the range and charging speed of electric cars, reducing the main barrier to entry for many consumers.
Finally, governments and car manufacturers are increasingly investing in research and development of electric vehicles, which is driving a greater choice and diversity of models on the market.
All this, together with the growing concern for sustainability, makes electric cars an unstoppable trend in the future of mobility.
STRENGTHS
The main advantages of electric cars are:
1. They are more environmentally friendly, as they do not emit pollutant gases or worsen air quality.
2. They are more energy efficient, which saves fuel costs and reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
3. They are quieter and smoother to drive, which can provide a more pleasant driving experience.
4. They require less maintenance than internal combustion vehicles, which can lead to cost savings in the long term.
5. In many countries there are tax and financial incentives to encourage the purchase of electric cars, which can make them more affordable for the consumer.
WEAKNESSES
However, the main problem with electric car charging is the lack of sufficient and accessible public charging infrastructure. This can limit the ability of electric car owners to charge their vehicles in convenient locations and restrict their vehicles’ range, especially for those who do not have access to a charging socket at home. In addition, charging speed and battery capacity can also be limiting at present.
INCENTIVES
There are various incentives for solar installations for charging electric cars both in Europe and the rest of the world, some of which are as follows:
1. Subsidies and financial support for the installation of solar panels and charging points for electric vehicles. In many countries, governments offer tax incentives, financing and subsidy programmes to encourage the installation of renewable energy systems.
2. Preferential rates or discounts on electricity bills for electric vehicles charged by solar energy. Many energy providers offer special rates for those who charge their electric vehicles with solar energy, which can be a great economic advantage.
3. Favourable standards and regulations for the installation of renewable energy systems. Governments and local authorities can establish rules and regulations that encourage the installation of renewable energy systems, such as solar panels, for charging electric vehicles.
4. Incentives and training programmes for installers and technicians specialised in renewable energy systems.
5. Awareness raising and sensitisation on the importance of renewable energy and the need to combat climate change, which can drive the adoption of solar energy systems for electric vehicle charging.
The trend towards renewable energy and the electrification of transport will strengthen in the future, which may further boost incentives and programmes for the installation of solar energy systems for electric vehicle charging.
SOLUTION
The EU has set ambitious targets for the transition towards a low-carbon economy, with at least 32% of its final energy consumption to be renewable by 2030, and to this end has implemented a number of initiatives to encourage solar power generation and the installation of solar panels for self-consumption, including, including the “EU Renewable Energy Action Plan” (COM(2003) 618 final), the Horizon Europe Programme (Horizon Europe: Regulation and Work Programme 2021-2022” (Regulation (EU) 2021/695 and Decision (EU) 2021/705) and the Renewable Energy Directive (Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018) on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources” (EU from renewable sources” (OJ L 328, 21.12.2018, p. 82-209)).
These efforts include the removal of regulatory and administrative barriers, the promotion of integrated renewable energy systems and the implementation of binding targets for renewable energy use.
EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS is an innovative solution for electric vehicle charging, which combines the protection of vehicles with the production of electrical energy through solar panels. The 3×6 metre robust skeleton grid structure is built with prefabricated columns and beams that are bolted together with special connecting elements, which makes it easy to assemble and disassemble. The roof and walls are constructed with state-of-the-art bifacial glass solar panels that work effectively and efficiently even in partial shading.
The construction of the EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS can be carried out on a slab, 4 or 6 individual or even on 4 wheels, which allows for greater mobility. In addition, these wheels can be driven by electric motors for automatic movement.

The 24 square metres of solar panels are integrated into 12 panels from 2.10 to 1 metre wide, with a variable output of 480w per panel up to 700w per panel. The installed power from 6 kWp can produce from 10,000 kW to 12,000 kW of usable energy. The output can vary according to location, geographical latitude and climatic conditions. This energy production is sufficient to cover 40,000 to 80,000 km per year, depending on the type of car and its typical usage of 10 to 20 kWh per 100 km.
Among the main advantages of EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS are the following:
1. Renewable energy production: EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS produce electrical energy from solar energy, making them a renewable and environmentally friendly energy source. The latest generation bifacial glass solar panels allow high efficiency even in partial shading.
2. Economic savings: By producing renewable energy, EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS can generate significant savings on electricity bills, especially in places where the charging of several electric vehicles is required. In addition, their modular construction allows for easy expansion or reduction of capacity according to charging needs.
3. Protection for vehicles: EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS protect vehicles from external elements such as sun, rain, hail and snow, which prolongs the service life of vehicles and reduces maintenance costs. In addition, their robust construction ensures the safety of the vehicles and prevents damage from vandalism or theft.
4. Installation flexibility: EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS can be installed in a variety of locations and their modular design allows them to adapt to different sizes and shapes of terrain. In addition, they can be installed on slab, footing or wheeled foundations, making them mobile and adaptable to different needs.
5. Contribution to sustainability: EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS contribute to sustainability and CO2 emissions reduction by encouraging the use of electric vehicles and the generation of renewable energy. In addition, their aesthetic and modern design complements the green image of the buildings and companies that install them.
6. EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS seek a balance between energy efficiency and aesthetic design in solar energy generation systems. The aim is for these systems to be fully integrated with the environment and private homes, as well as emblematic buildings, and that their design does not negatively affect the aesthetics of the buildings. In addition, the aim is for these systems to be mobile energy generators and designed to maximise energy efficiency.
7. EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS systems generate surplus energy that can be stored (through the virtual battery system) and used in the home or for other purposes. In this way, the use of the energy generated is maximised and the economic profitability is increased.
EROSOL SOLAR CARPORTS are an innovative and sustainable solution that combines vehicle protection, renewable energy generation and economic savings in a single product.
